Choose wisely when reseeding this year
Grassland reseeding is one of the best paying investments available to grassland farmers. Reseeded and rejuvenated pastures will produce higher annual yields with better digestibility, ultimately boosting herd productivity. When choosing the correct mixture on farm each reseeding event should be assessed on its own merits considering the end use, land type and method of establishment. Sinclair McGill provides a range of mixtures catering from short to long term leys, extended grazing, heavy silage cuts, fast growing grazing mixtures, dual purpose mixtures and persistent mixtures for heavier type soils. Sinclair McGill grass seed users are aware of our mixtures proven ability to perform on Irish farms and come back for more, year on year.
Combines the performance usually associated with shorter term leys with the excellent persistence of a permanent mixture. Castlehill will provide for high quality grazing for dairy, beef and sheep while also producing excellent silage.
Produces very dense swards with excellent stock carrying capacity, suitable for grazing and a single cut of silage.
Medium to long term mixture for intensive grazing systems. The rapid regrowth of Turbo makes it especially suitable for paddock grazing systems. The high tetraploid content makes it very palatable, leading to higher voluntary intake and increased milk and beef production.
A medium to long term predominantly cutting mixture, Scotsward will give three heavy cuts of silage. Inclusion of timothy enables it to stand up to the mower while also contributing to early spring and late summer production.
The most persistent and hardy mixture in the Sinclair McGill range with proven performance on hillsides and lowland. Although it will never be as productive in good soils as Castlehill it will excel in marginal conditions.
